2025 Tennis
On Sunday the 14th July, at Cound Tennis club, 28 enthusiastic junior tennis players gave their all in front of an appreciative crowd. With ages ranging from 5 years to 14, the level of energy was outstanding, as was the standard of tennis played. The tournament formed part of this year’s Wenlock Olympian Games and featured a collaboration between Cound, the Hollies Whitchurch, Lilleshall, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury Lawn and Shrewsbury Town Walls tennis clubs. Whilst every player was a champion, overall winners for each of the four categories of development were: Red ball (under 8yrs) – Alexa Birt; Orange ball (under 10 yrs) – Dougie Mullock: Green ball (under 12yrs) – Zac Robinson; and Yellow ball (under 16yrs) – Bradley Mansfield. With the Wimbledon Men’s singles finals playing later in the afternoon, all were agreed that it was a joyous day of tennis.
