Working with the Society
Volunteering with an organisation that promotes the arts and sport through a unique Olympic history.
If you are looking to volunteer and be involved with a local organisation that is involved with the arts, sport, maintaining the historical heritage of the town or promoting the wider works of the Society, we will welcome you.
The Society relies totally on volunteers and supporters to maintain the work of the Society. We have several facets to our activities, which include:
- Organising and running the Olympian Games Live Arts events in March
- Organising and running the Olympian Games Sports events, mainly in June and July
- Promoting the events and providing outreach to raise awareness of the unique history of the Wenlock Olympian Games and its involvement with the modern Olympic Games.
Your involvement can be from a day a year to throughout the year and across many roles, including – marshalling, setting up for the Games, helping visitors, explaining the history, helping organise events, publicity, public relations and education services.
Get in touch to either find out more or to offer your skills. If you would like to talk to someone about getting involved, please email the Society on info@wenlock-olympian-society.org.uk and we will contact you.
If you would like to become a member of the Society please contact Melinda Laws on membership@wenlock-olympian-society.org.uk
