Photography Competition 2025/26 – Terms and Conditions
The competition subject is – ‘Golden’
The competition is open to anyone aged 8-18 in three age ranges:
8 to 11 yrs
12 to 15 yrs
16 to 18yrs
There is a £5 submission fee for one image per entrant.
- The Judges are looking for imaginative interpretations of the competition title – ‘Golden’. Technical expertise will be of secondary consideration and will be judged appropriately to the age group
- The image can be made with any type of camera including mobile phones or any form of photographic image-making which incorporates light within its creation.
- Analogue generated images will need to be scanned and submitted digitally as jpegs.
- The image must have been taken within the last 12 months and must be the entrant’s own work – adult input or adult manipulation of an image is not permitted.
- The use of AI manipulation is not permitted.
- Submitted images, should not have appeared on another website (including blogs and social networking sites).
- You must submit your entry via the online form as detailed on the submissions page.
- International entries are welcome.
Entries must be received by midnight, UK time, on Saturday 31st January 2026 - You can send your entry in as soon as the competition opens. Please ensure you submit your entry in good time.
- Please note that the Wenlock Olympian Society can make no allowances for any technical issues which prevent or delay submissions e.g. internet problems.
The Competition is biennial
Data & Copyright
- Worldwide copyright for the image will remain with the photographer
- It is assumed that all entrants give their permission for the Wenlock Olympian Society to hold, process and display the submitted image on their website, social media accounts and in other Wenlock Olympian Society media, in relation to this competition. You will always be credited alongside your image, if chosen.
- By entering the competition the photographer agrees to having obtained permission from any
persons featured in their image. - The Wenlock Olympian Society may contact you only in relation to your image.
- Your personal data will not be used for any other purpose nor passed to any third party and will be deleted once the competition has finished.
Judging & prizes - Entries will be judged by a panel of 3 photographic judges and the Gold, Silver and Bronze medallists in each age range will be announced towards the end of February 2026
- Medalists will be invited to receive their medal at the Live Arts Competition in March 2026 at The William Brookes School.
- For the judging all entries received will be scaled to the same resolution – 1500px in sRGB
- Entries will be judged without the identity of the photographer.
- Wenlock Olympian Society Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded to the first 3 winners in each age category
- Medal winners will also receive a critique of their winning image.
IMPORTANT
The Judges’ decisions are final. Judges and organisers will not enter into any correspondence/discussion
