FUNDRAISING APPEAL

Wenlock Olympian Games’s athletics in Much Wenlock is under threat. Since 1850, a wide range of athletics have been held at Wenlock Olympian Games on or close by its present home of the William Brookes’s school campus. Now these facilities are in urgent need of renovation to bring them back to UK Athletics’ TrackMark standard. Without the quality assurance certification of TrackMark, Olympian athletics can’t take place in their historic home of Much Wenlock.

So, with the support of William Brookes School, WOS needs to raise £208,000 for the specialist work and materials to resurface the track; a discus cage with a disabled athlete facility and turning area; and a durable PVC cover for the long jump.

The Wenlock Olympian Society (WOS) is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee. WOS is run by a committee of Trustees and supported by an enthusiastic general membership.  Not one person receives any remuneration for their efforts. The work of WOS, including its annual Games, education activities, and running costs relies on funding through charging competition entrance fees, but essentially from donations and grants.
