Rowing returns to the Games

Not since 1864, when a regatta was held at the Quarry in Shrewsbury, has a rowing event been included in the Games.  (See the image below for a record of that event.) Then it was part of the Shropshire (rather than Wenlock) Olympian Games. This year, thanks to Ironbridge Rowing Club, the Wenlock Olympian Games includes a rowing event.

Results

Huntingdon beat Pengwern in the Mixed 8+
Loughborough beat Derwent in the J14 single scull

Medals were presented by Wenlock Olympian Society Vice-Presidents Helen Cromarty and Simon Macvicker
